Design process and approach to your project

Our process

We work with our clients to tell their visual stories. We strongly believe that collaboration and communication is key to a great design process. It helps create visuals that meet our clients expectations and goals.

1. Getting to know our client

We work to establish the criteria and objectives for a design, and its guidelines. Who is your target audience? What are your goals and expectations for this project? Do you have a visual solution already in mind for your story? Are there any branding guidelines we should follow?

2. Gathering information

Content drives design. Do you have information to support your visual story? Do you have any reference material and/or approved copy? This step is key to develop the best visual solution.

3. Choosing the best solution

Using the information you provide, we will determine which visual solution is best for your project. Should it be told in print, online or both. Is it a graphic design, infographic, motion graphic, interactive, etc., or all of the above?

4. Concepts / Storyboards

We develop the concept and look of the visuals including the layout, style of artwork or movement depending on the chosen solution. Our client will get a better idea of how the final project will look or behave. We present the concept to the client for approval.

5. Refining the design

We refine the approved design with additional feedback from our client. For motion graphics and interactives, we incorporate additional edits on the storyboard before any programming takes place. The project is finalized after final approval.

6. Final deliverable

We are at the end of the design process. The project complete and delivered to the client.

COMMUNICATION: We have one contact to coordinate projects — the project manager. A producer is available if the project manager is unavailable.

BUDGETS: We are flexible when it comes to our client’s budgets. If we are unable to work within a client’s budget, we can make other recommendations that may help with their goals.

PRICING: We offer pricing on a per-project and an hourly basis. It depends on the project. We also have retainer options available for ongoing projects and services.

PRODUCTION SCHEDULE: Depending on the project and the client’s review process, static projects typically take 2-3 weeks to complete. Motion graphics and interactives typically take 4-6 weeks to complete. We do offer expedited production schedules. However, we need to determine if we are able to complete the project in a shorter timeframe.
