It was considered the ninth planet in our solar system until 2006, when it was demoted to a dwarf planet by the International Astronomical Union. A dwarf planet is smaller than the other planets, it orbits the sun, it’s large enough that its gravity pulls its shape into a ball, but too small to clear other objects out of its path.
